The official registered business name is Ponder Compass. The business was established in 2018 in Busan.
In 2018 Hana Seo registered Ponder Compass as a small technical reading room in Busan. The early shelves held general notes on distributed ledgers: long evenings, mixed vocabulary, and visitors who wanted a quiet table more than a pitch. The room moved twice before it settled in Dongnae-gu.
In 2021 the shelf narrowed. Visitors were asking about Solana developer concepts and arriving with tutorials they could paste but not explain. Hana cleared the other topics and kept accounts, signatures, transactions, programs, and rent. Evening sittings in the current room began in 2022. Minjae Park joined in 2023 to lead the programs sitting and the Thursday circle.
The library still does one job: help a beginner say the early Solana words accurately, on paper, in a room in Dongnae-gu. Home practice on a keyboard comes after, on the learner's own time.
Hana studied library practice and spent three years marking technical notes for a university reading group in Busan before registering Ponder Compass. She leads the Tuesday series, writes the concept cards, and keeps the rule that week one is accounts even when a visitor wants to start at programs.
Minjae came to the room as a learner in the 2022 series, then stayed to mark notebooks. He leads week four and week five, chairs the Thursday circle, and is the person who will make you draw the two boxes yourself.
Paper first. The concept pack is printed. The read-aloud is slow. Questions wait until the last twenty minutes so the paragraph finishes. Laptops stay closed for the first four Tuesdays because a glowing editor pulls attention onto syntax before the account model is stable.
Korean is welcome when a term needs a spoken gloss. The notes themselves stay in English, because that is the language of the references learners meet at home.
Office workers after six, graduate students, relatives of people who already write programs, and the occasional English teacher who got curious on a commute. The room is for adults. We are neighbors to clinics and small offices in Myeongjang-dong, and the Tuesday list often includes someone who works within a short walk.
Definitions before samples. A fee stated before a seat is held. A deposit returned if a series does not reach five people. Corrections written in the learner's notebook, not collected as a score for anyone else.
